A healthy and nutritious plant milk at home. Doing it home you can achieve a more natural and affordable milk.
Basically you only need a blender, oats and warm water. Simple as that!
Ingredients:
100g old fashioned oat
1 liter warm water
Optional:
10g Honey or 2 Medjool dates
Method:
Soak the oats in 300ml warm water for atleast 15 minutes
Pour in a blender the soaked oats and the rest of the warm water
Add dates or honey (skip this if you don't want a sweet milk)
Blend in maximum speed until smooth, it may take 5-10 minutes depends on your blender.
Strain the milk in a cloth strainer. For a better result strain two times.
Put your milk in a bottle and let it rest in the fridge for atleast 30minutes
Shake the bottle before drinking or using your milk, enjoy!
Tips:
Dates or honey are added when you want to use your milk in a dessert or if you just want to drink it right away.
If you are using your milk in salty dishes, it would be better not to put any sugar on it.
You can use the oat milk like a normal milk in most dishes, sweet and salty, hot and cold.
Try also this recipe using other dried friuts such as almonds, cashew, soy, rice and coconut to turn them into milk.
