Steamed chocolate cake

A super soft and fluffy cake without an oven!

 

Ingredients:

300g flour

200g sugar

70g cocoa powder

3eggs

100g vegetable oil

100ml espresso coffee

2tsp baking powder

a pinch of salt


Method:

  1. Bring 1/2 liter of water in a 10 - inch steamer pan to boil (the inner part)

  2. In a medium size bowl, mix all liquid ingredients: eggs, oil and coffee, and mix well

  3. In another bowl sift the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder then add it into the liquid mixture.

  4. Add sugar and atlast a pinch of salt

  5. Mix with a whisk or a fork until smooth

  6. Pour into an 6 inch baking pan with baking paper at the bottom

  7. Seal with aluminum foil making sure the border is well closed so no water can come in to your cake

  8. Put into the rack or basket steamer and then close the lid

  9. Steam for 30 mins

  10. Check with a toothpick if the cake is cooked before taking out from the steamer

  11. If desired, you can fill your cake with any filling you want or just leave it plain (I used chocolate ganache) and enjoy!
